Steps to Accomplish Our Mission
Gather
Students will establish community through times of fellowship and worship by inviting
their friends (believers and nonbelievers) to student ministry and church wide gatherings.
Grow
Students will receive sound teaching through large group worship environments,
intentional small group discussions and discipleship groups. Small groups include 8-10 students
led by an adult group facilitator to discuss the lesson in a more in-depth way.
Discipleship groups consist of 3-5 students once a week that meet with and adult
who can disciple them and have accountability in their life.
Students will be challenged to reach our community and own their faith.
Go
Students will be empowered to be intentional in reaching the world with the Gospel
through evangelism, service and daily conversations. Mobilizing students to be leaders
of the church in the present will lead to a healthier church both now and in the days to come.
It is our desire to develop student leaders to lead inside the Student Ministry, inside the church as a whole and in their community.
A group of students will be selected to serve on the Student Impact Team to use the Student Ministry as a training field for reaching the lost in Cherokee County and abroad.
The goal is for students to own the Student Ministry and make an impact in and for their church.
The Parent Impact Team is a group of parents and adults from the church to be an extension of the Student Pastor through serving as small group leaders, a community presence and other roles in our church and community.
The team will also provide feedback for student ministry and event planning. This team will help students grow in their faith and own their faith.
This team will meet quarterly and will be chosen annually.
Pine Grove Student Ministry currently partners with the Dekalb/Cherokee Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in each of our local schools through local huddles as well as character coaching with select athletic teams. We also seek to begin partnerships with other local agencies to have opportunities to meet needs in our community with the goal of pointing people to Jesus.
